The game opens with a gut-punch. You play as Sachi, a mother in a world where the sun has died, forced by her village’s "Sun Tree" religion to sacrifice her firstborn son, Leo. Years later, a chance encounter and a mysterious pendant reveal that the sacrificial altar is actually a teleporter to a toxic, underground world.

You’ll spend most of your time gathering resources to fix the gear you used to gather those resources. It’s a grind, but the reward is unlocking new areas—giving it a distinct Metroidvania-style progression .

Smoke and Sacrifice isn't just about combat; it's a "crafting simulator" at its core. To survive the "Smoke Time"—a periodic fog that suffocates and brings out ghosts—you must constantly manage your gear.
