When players booted up the build, they noticed the UI was stripped bare. There was no "Main Menu," only "Camp." Upon clicking it, the game immediately bypassed the lobby and dropped the player into a hyper-realistic version of Camp Crystal Lake.

The lighting was wrong. The moon cast long, jagged shadows that moved independently of the trees. Most notably, there were no other players. No counselors, no Jason. Just a first-person view of a lone character walking through a silent forest. The Red Cabin

In the lake water, the player’s character didn't look like a counselor. It looked like a digitized version of the person currently sitting at the keyboard. The Final Crash
