Tell Me More

Erik the Viking (1989) is a fantasy-comedy film written and directed by Terry Jones of Monty Python fame. It stars Tim Robbins as a thoughtful Viking who rejects the violent, pillaging lifestyle of his peers to seek a peaceful existence.

Disillusioned by the brutality of his village, Erik (Tim Robbins) sets out on a quest to find the "Horn Resounding" to end the Age of Ragnarok and bring peace.

Reviews have been mixed, with some finding it funny while others (such as Roger Ebert) found the comic invention limited and similar to a "20th-century satirist" approach. Related Material

The film features a lower-budget aesthetic, utilizing creative, practical, or limited effects, such as in the sea monster scene.
